Fiona Macdonald Trading is a family company established in 2006 comprising Fiona and her two sons Toby and Joss. The company started after a family holiday to Turkey in the summer of 2006 where chance meetings lead to a network of suppliers and friends. Fiona has lived abroad in Kenya and Abu Dhabi and has travelled extensively. She has worked primarily in IT holding a degree in Computing and Electronics from Durham University and a Masters in Applied Computing Technologies from the University of Northumbria for which she achieved a commendation and was awarded the V dand V prize for best performance.
Fiona has always enjoyed creative projects at home and established a successful jewellery business while living in Kenya. She bought beads from markets and built up a network of suppliers who would trade unique examples of amber and other beads for her from the surrounding African countries. She designed and made collections of jewellery that sold to safari lodges and at craft fairs.
